Overview:
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading precision breakdown machine shop for an experienced Nightshift Foreman (Supervisor). The role involves overseeing nightshift operations, operating and programming Siemens CNC Milling Centres, and leading a team of machinists. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC professional with leadership skills and a passion for precision engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CNC Operation & Programming:
    • Operate, set up, and program Siemens CNC Milling Centres.
    • Utilize Fusion 360 or similar CAM software for offline programming.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and lead the nightshift team, ensuring productivity and adherence to quality standards.
    • Provide technical guidance and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Quality & Maintenance:
    • Perform inspections using measuring tools and ensure compliance with specifications.
    • Oversee equipment maintenance and address breakdowns promptly.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Optimize machining processes to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
    • Manage smaller maintenance tasks and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Adaptability:
    • Tackle complex machining challenges, particularly in breakdown scenarios.
    • Operate manual lathes and milling machines as needed. Basic welding skills are desirable.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with Siemens CNC Milling Centres.
  • Proficiency in programming, setting, and operating CNC machines.
  • Experience in manual machining and basic welding is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, tolerances, and quality control standards.
  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments.
  • Health and safety awareness.

Desirable:

  • Experience with other CNC controls (e.g., FANUC, Heidenhain).
  • Relevant qualifications in Engineering or Machining.

Working hours:

  • Shift: Monday to Thursday, 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
